In order to meet the needs of Council and its community in a cost effective yet efficient manner, Hindmarsh Shire Council (as part of a regional partnership) called for tenders that provided innovative solutions for building services. Government Shared Services responded to the challenge offering a mix of traditional and digital services. Providing real time video conferencing from council customer service centres reduced costs associated with having permanent onsite building service expertise.
The service is also supported by a cloud-based permit system that intuitively guides customers through the permit process, while providing a central repository for data storage and 24/7 access and performance reporting.
While the physical presence of surveyors and building inspectors are still required for many building services, we believe that the solution provided by Government Shared Services is representative of the future direction that customer interaction is going to take place whilst meeting the needs of the community of today.”
